Nagar meaning City, Cities in Bangladesh and the Indian subcontinent are rich in ancient history and cultural grandeur. The customs from these ancient civilizations have been passed down through to generations and incorporated throughout our everyday life.
Back home in Bangladesh our city is called Rajnagar. This small city has its own historical events and stories. The Mughal Emperor is said to have sent his General to overthrow the ruler of Rajnagar, however, compelled by the natural beauty and the abundance of wealth the General became the ruler himself, disobeying the Emperor. One of the most poignant and recent stories within the city is of one of the local heroes who survived the vicious attack of the Royal Bengal tiger. The Tigers attacks left survivors with deep facial, throat, and ribcage scaring but the lucky individuals survived and lived for many years. Many people were fascinated and came to see the survivors for many years; one such survivor was our own Grandfather.
